:: Hwa-Rang Taekwondo Federation ::
Dear Prospective Member,

Thank you for inquiring about membership in an HTF Taekwondo Center.  “HTF” stands for Hwa-
Rang Taekwondo Federation.  If you are not familiar with the word “Taekwondo”, it is a Korean martial
art.  Because of its widespread popularity and extreme effectiveness, many Americans refer to
Taekwondo as “super karate”.

Taekwondo was introduced in this country over 40 years ago and brought with it over 1400 years of
history and tradition.  There are currently over 25 affiliated schools and clubs in the Hwa-Rang
Taekwondo Federation with more than 3,000 members participating in our program.  The HTF is one of
the fastest growing martial arts organizations on the west coast of the United States.

In Taekwondo, one gains increased flexibility, strength, timing and coordination - all while acquiring a
valuable means of self-defense.  The HTF version of the Chang Hun Ryu style of forms is both dynamic
and powerful.  These forms are the foundation of both a teaching system and student development.

Each and every HTF Taekwondo Center is owned and operated by an HTF black belt instructor who
has not only achieved this coveted level of proficiency, but has received extensive education and training
to become a certified instructor.  The quality of instruction at an HTF affiliated school can be summarized
in one word:  Professionalism.

Many people begin Taekwondo for various reasons.  If you are seeking a better physical appearance,
increased athletic ability, self-defense training or just more self-confidence, Taekwondo can help you
achieve these goals.  We wish you success and we hope the attached material will answer questions you
have concerning your training.

Sincerely,

Grand Master Jack Pierce
8th Degree Black Belt
